Appointments

The best way to contact us is online via our website. Online e-consultations are a quick and convenient way to contact us if you have a clinical concern or other queries that we are able to help with (such as medication or sick note requests).

All GP surgeries now have to offer this service during their core opening hours of 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, but we keep this option open all the time. This means that you can submit a query to us at any time, and we will then review the details you tell us once the practice is open (Mon to Fri 8am to 6.30pm).

You can also contact our reception team via phone or in-person, if you prefer. They will take some initial details from you to share with one of the doctors in the practice, who will then advise appropriate action.

One of the doctors will review your e-consultation the same day or the next morning (if submitted after 4pm), Monday to Friday. If submitted over the weekend, we will review your e-consultation by the following Monday.

We will then respond to your clinical request in one of the following ways:-

  • Offer you an urgent appointment with a clinician (you will be offered a same day or next day appointment)
  • Offer you a routine appointment with a clinician
  • Direct you to another service that can help with the concern, such as a local pharmacy who are able to assess and treat many minor conditions
  • Send you appropriate information about a condition and how to manage it
  • Organise tests without having to come in first, where appropriate.
  • Complete a request for medication or a clinical document or referral

If you have any questions about using our online e-consultation service, our reception team will be able to help you.

Home Visits

Home visits are only for truly housebound patients who are not able to visit the surgery or hospital. Please see here for more information and to see if you may be eligible for home visits.

Please help us

If you are not able to attend your appointment please let us know in time so that the time can be used for someone else. If you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment you may be asked to re-book.

Extended opening hours

We also offer weekday late and weekend appointments at our neighbouring ‘hub’ practice which is at Ireland Wood Surgery. These appointments cannot yet be booked online, but can be booked by speaking to reception.
